Storage Park Royal Modern Slavery Statement
This Modern Slavery Statement sets out the actions taken by Storage Park Royal to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking in our operations and supply chains. We are committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business relationships and to implementing and enforcing effective systems and controls to ensure that modern slavery is not taking place anywhere within our business or among our suppliers.
Our Zero-Tolerance Approach
Storage Park Royal has a clear zero-tolerance policy towards all forms of modern slavery, human trafficking, forced labour, and exploitation. This commitment applies to every aspect of our activities, from the way we recruit and manage our people to the way we source goods, services, and subcontracted work. We expect the same high standards from all our suppliers, contractors, and business partners.
We actively communicate our stance on modern slavery to employees and relevant third parties, making it clear that any form of participation in or facilitation of modern slavery is strictly prohibited and may result in disciplinary action, termination of contracts, and, where appropriate, reporting to relevant authorities.
Our Supply Chain and Supplier Standards
Our supply chain includes providers of storage-related services, facilities management, maintenance, security, cleaning, IT, and professional services. We recognise that certain parts of the supply chain can carry a higher risk of labour exploitation, particularly where low-skilled, contractor, or temporary labour is used.
We require suppliers to operate in compliance with all applicable labour, employment, and human rights laws and to maintain working conditions that respect the dignity and safety of all workers. Suppliers are expected to ensure that they do not use forced, bonded, or involuntary labour and that all workers are employed of their own free will, receive fair compensation, and have the freedom to leave their employment in accordance with legal and contractual requirements.
Supplier Due Diligence and Audits
To support our zero-tolerance stance, Storage Park Royal undertakes proportionate due diligence when selecting and reviewing suppliers. This process may include assessing the nature of the services provided, the geographical location, and the use of subcontractors or temporary labour. Higher-risk suppliers may be subject to enhanced scrutiny.
We reserve the right to conduct audits of suppliers where we identify potential risks related to modern slavery or where concerns have been raised. These audits may involve reviewing employment records, labour practices, and health and safety standards, as well as speaking directly with workers where appropriate. Where non-compliance or risk is identified, we will work with the supplier to develop corrective action plans, and we may suspend or terminate relationships if issues are not adequately addressed.
Raising Concerns and Reporting Channels
Storage Park Royal encourages a culture of openness, where employees, contractors, and other stakeholders feel able to report concerns about modern slavery without fear of retaliation. Staff are informed that they must report any suspicion or knowledge of exploitation, unsafe working conditions, or unethical labour practices connected to our operations or supply chain.
Concerns can be raised through established internal reporting routes, including direct reporting to line managers or senior management. Reports will be treated seriously, investigated promptly and confidentially as far as possible, and appropriate remedial action will be taken. We are committed to protecting anyone who raises a concern in good faith from any form of victimisation or detriment.
Training and Awareness
Relevant employees, particularly those involved in procurement, contract management, and facilities operations, receive information and guidance on recognising indicators of modern slavery and how to respond to concerns. We seek to build awareness of human rights risks among our workforce so that potential issues can be identified and addressed at an early stage.
Monitoring, Governance, and Annual Review
Responsibility for implementing and monitoring this Modern Slavery Statement rests with the senior management of Storage Park Royal. We review our policies, procedures, and supplier arrangements on an ongoing basis to identify opportunities to strengthen our approach and reduce risk.
This statement is reviewed at least once every twelve months to ensure it remains accurate, effective, and aligned with evolving legal requirements and best practice. The review considers any incidents reported, audit findings, changes in our supply chain, and feedback from employees and stakeholders. Where improvements are identified, we will update our practices and communicate any significant changes internally and to relevant external partners.
By continuing to refine our systems and expectations, Storage Park Royal aims to contribute to the wider effort to eradicate modern slavery and human trafficking and to uphold the rights and dignity of every individual connected with our business.
